What are prejudices?

  • Prejudices are judgements about people, groups and situations before the person who judges knows the real facts.

    • Prejudice is not based on experience, but a judgement based on bias, and assumption with a positive or negative attitude

    • Prejudice is only a preliminary use with an attitude that usually leads to unfounded and incorrect conclusions

  • Discrimination is the unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people, especially on the grounds of race, age, or sex.

  • Factors contributing to prejudices:
    • ignorance

    • stress

    • evaluation of our situation and ourselves

    • When people say a lot of bad stereotypes about someone or something, it can affect it badly

  • You must treat every person like he/she is.

  • You have to be tolerant in all religions.

  • You shouldn’t judge people you don't know.

  • You ought to be kind and friendly.

  • Recognize every work as equal. From a man as also from a woman.

  • Inform yourself before saying things. Most of the terrorists are islamists.

  • Accept, they also can be intelligent.

  • The risk of HIV is the same as for everyone.

  • German: everyone drinks alcohol.

  • Hungarian: everyone got bad days.
